The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has shared updated information regarding the 'Breath Loan' (Nefes Kredisi), which was launched to facilitate SMEs' access to financing. According to the statement, 11 thousand 900 firms have been supported under the loan program so far, and a total credit volume of 16.2 billion TL has been reached.
In its statement, TOBB noted that the loan package has received approval for a total limit of 25 billion TL and that applications will continue to be accepted until this limit is reached. In the loan disbursement process, the authority to decide which firms will be supported and to approve the loans rests entirely with the relevant banks. TOBB does not have any selection or approval authority in this process.
Pointing out that the current loan limit is insufficient due to increasing demand, TOBB announced that they have conveyed their requests for an increase in the limit to the relevant authorities. If this request yields a positive result, an additional loan limit will also be made available for SMEs to use.
