The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has decided to increase the additional payments for sub-specialists and sub-specialty resident-research assistants working in university hospitals. According to the statement, a regulation has been implemented that provides an increase in the additional payments for sub-specialists and sub-specialty resident-research assistants.

According to the statement made by YÖK, a 100 percent increase has been implemented in the base payments of those who have completed their sub-specialty training and are working in university hospitals, as well as for sub-specialty resident-research assistants. Furthermore, a 50 percent increase has been made in the base payments for residents and research assistants who are currently undergoing or have completed sub-specialty training. This regulation covers those who have received sub-specialty training and those who have completed their training as residents and research assistants working in university hospitals, just as it does in the Ministry of Health.

It was reported that these raises were made official with the 'Regulation on Amending the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles to be Applied in the Distribution of Additional Payments to be Made from Revolving Fund Revenues in Higher Education Institutions,' published in the Official Gazette dated January 31, 2024.
