Announced in the Official Gazette: Decision on the import of certain phone parts released
It has been decided to implement surveillance on the import of certain phone components and parts.

The Ministry of Trade's Communiqué on the Implementation of Surveillance in Imports has been published in the Official Gazette.
With the communiqué, the principles for the prospective surveillance implementation regarding the import of certain phone components and parts, such as antennas and motherboards, have been determined.
Accordingly, surveillance will be applied at a rate of 5 dollars per unit for "All kinds of antennas and antenna reflectors; parts thereof (Only those belonging to telephone devices)", 100 dollars per unit for "Others (Only those belonging to telephone devices and cards with at least one component mounted on them (including motherboards))", 5 dollars per unit for "Others (Other components and parts belonging to telephone devices)", and 35 dollars per unit for goods defined as "Others".
The provisions of this communiqué will not apply to the import of components and parts that are completely disassembled and intended for use in the production of smart mobile phones.
The specified goods can only be imported with a surveillance certificate to be issued by the General Directorate of Imports.
The communiqué will enter into force in 30 days.
The Ministry's General Communiqué on Customs regarding tariff and classification decisions has also been published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force.
The communiqué aims to harmonize Turkey's legislation with the decisions taken by the European Commission regarding the classification of certain goods.
