The results of the 2023 Best Global Brands study, conducted annually by Interbrand, have been announced. Apple maintained its top spot in the Best Global Brands ranking, increasing its brand value by 4 percent to 502 billion dollars. Microsoft, which increased its brand value by 14 percent, took second place, while Amazon placed third. The other brands in the top 10, which was dominated by the technology sector, were Google, Samsung, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Coca-Cola, Nike, and BMW, respectively.
Amazon, which ranks third on the list, outperformed its competitors by a wide margin in online shopping.
MANAGED TO MAINTAIN LAST YEAR'S RANKING
Toyota, which ranked 6th among 100 brands in the list covering all sectors, managed to maintain its ranking from last year while increasing its brand value beyond last year's figure with an 8 percent rise. According to Interbrand's assessment, Toyota's brand value rose from 59 billion 757 million dollars to 64 billion 504 million dollars. Toyota also continued its industry leadership as one of the three automotive brands to enter the top 10.
When determining a brand's value, Interbrand used three key analyses, including the financial performance of the products or services, the role the brand plays in purchasing decisions, and the brand's competitive strength, as well as its ability to encourage loyalty and thereby ensure sustainable demand in the future.
