Applications open for companies wishing to operate e-scooters
Applications for companies wishing to operate shared electric scooters (e-scooters) within the borders of Istanbul begin on November 27, 2023.

In accordance with the "Electric Scooter Regulation," application conditions have been determined for companies whose permit periods have expired to obtain shared e-scooter permits. Pursuant to Article 13, Clause 2 of the regulation, which states, "The e-scooter permit period to be granted according to Article 12 is 2 years from the date of the decision on which the e-scooter permit was granted," operators must apply to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transportation to renew their permit periods. Applications for e-scooter operators who have received an Authorization Certificate from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure will begin on November 27, 2023, and end on December 18, 2023.
In accordance with the relevant directive, the following documents are required from e-scooter operators:
Authorization certificate, signature circular, application petition
The "Electric Scooter Permit Application Principles," which describe how holders of e-scooter sharing system authorization certificates can obtain permits, have been evaluated by the UKOME commission.
Accordingly, the planned e-scooter numbers determined on a district basis by UKOME's decision numbered 2023/8-6 are as follows:
