Foreign investors' sales of government domestic debt securities (DİBS) reached $863.7 million in the first week of September. While foreign investors sold $50.6 million in stocks, they also offloaded $32.1 million in private sector securities. The net sales made by foreigners in the week of September 6 totaled $946.4 million.

According to Central Bank (CBRT) data, foreign investors' private sector bond stocks also fell from $371 million to $339.4 million, while their DİBS stock declined from $13 billion 862.8 million to $13 billion 39 million.

On the other hand, the Central Bank's data revealed a decline in the bank's reserves as well. In the week of September 6, total reserves fell by $2 billion 612 million compared to the previous week, dropping to $146 billion 761 million. According to the released data, net reserves excluding swaps decreased from $18.5 billion to $17.4 billion in the week of September 6.

DECLINE IN KKM SLOWS DOWN

According to the weekly data from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the decline in KKM (FX-protected deposit accounts) has begun to slow. According to BDDK data, there was a decline of 19.7 billion TL in FX-protected deposits in the week of September 6. This figure is the lowest decline recorded in the last 10 weeks. According to BDDK data, with the decline on September 6, the size of FX-protected deposits fell to 1.58 trillion TL.

Furthermore, the Central Bank's weekly money and banking statistics revealed that domestic residents turned toward foreign currency deposits last week.

According to Central Bank data, domestic investors purchased $847 million in foreign currency last week. However, according to the data, foreign currency deposits of individuals continued to decline. While individuals sold $251 million in foreign currency deposits, corporate entities purchased $1 billion 98 million in foreign currency deposits.
