Competition among banks regarding pension promotions has accelerated once again with August campaigns. While the promotion amounts paid to retirees who transfer their pensions vary according to their monthly income bracket, some banks offer additional benefits such as interest-free loans, cash advances, card spending, and automatic bill payment instructions alongside cash promotions.
Bank campaigns generally base their offers on salary brackets of under 10,000 TL, 10,000-14,999 TL, 15,000-19,999 TL, and over 20,000 TL. In the campaigns that stand out during the August period, it is observed that cash promotion amounts reach up to 35,000 TL.
Although the phrase "up to 90,000 TL in benefits" is used in some campaigns, this total amount does not necessarily mean a direct, non-repayable promotion. Repayable products such as interest-free loans and installment cash advances can also be included in the total package. For this reason, retirees need to carefully examine campaign terms, commitment periods, and conditions for additional products.
HIGHEST PROMOTIONS AND ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
According to the campaigns that stand out in August, promotions reach up to 35,000 TL at Şekerbank, 32,000 TL at ING, 30,000 TL at Yapı Kredi, and 25,000 TL at İş Bankası and Garanti BBVA.
Ziraat Bankası offers a promotion of up to 12,000 TL to those who are retiring for the first time or transferring their pension to the bank. The bank's campaign also includes opportunities such as a 40,000 TL interest-free loan with a 12-month maturity, Bankkart Lira earnings, and a 25,000 TL interest-free cash advance with 3-month installments.
At Kuveyt Türk, the promotion amount reaches up to 14,000 TL. The bank provides a 5,000 TL promotion to those receiving a salary under 10,000 TL, 8,000 TL to those in the 10,000-14,999 TL range, 10,000 TL to those in the 15,000-19,999 TL range, and 12,000 TL to those receiving a salary of 20,000 TL and above. There are also opportunities for additional payments through automatic bill payment instructions and card spending.
At Yapı Kredi, the total promotion and additional reward opportunity reaches up to 30,000 TL. The bank's base promotion varies between 6,250 TL and 15,000 TL depending on the salary bracket. Additional rewards can be provided through conditions such as bill payment instructions, credit card spending, mobile application usage, and becoming a customer via mobile.
At Akbank, a promotion between 6,250 TL and 15,000 TL is paid based on the salary bracket. An additional 5,000 TL in chip-para can be given to retirees who become customers via mobile and transfer their pension through Akbank Mobile.
Retirees who have previously received a promotion can request an update if their bank launches a new and higher campaign. Depending on the bank, this process can be done via the mobile application, call center, or at a branch.
It is also possible to switch to another bank while the commitment period is still ongoing. For this, the portion of the promotion received from the current bank corresponding to the remaining commitment period must be refunded. Afterward, the pension transfer process can be completed; this process can also be carried out via e-Devlet.
For those receiving both a retirement pension and a survivor's pension, the choice of bank is important for the promotion calculation. If the pensions are received from the same bank, the promotion is calculated as a single payment based on the total income, whereas if the pensions are transferred to different banks, it may be possible to receive separate promotions.
