UK-based Pen-Avia announced that it has suspended all operations after losing its Air Operator Certificate (AOC), which is essential for the industry. With the revocation of its flight license, the company's ability to conduct legal operations has been completely eliminated.
This development has caused grievances for thousands of passengers who had booked flights with Pen-Avia. With the company halting all flights, the holiday and business travel plans of a large number of people have been canceled.
Although no official financial report has been released by Pen-Avia, some messages sent by the company to its customers since the final months of last year had provided the first signs of the bottlenecks being experienced in its operations.
Experts point to the crises occurring in the sector as small and medium-sized airlines go bankrupt one after another in 2025 and 2026.
