Following the seizure of the assets of businessman Erkan Kork, who was detained in March last year as part of "illegal betting" operations conducted in Istanbul, the Bank Pozitif he owned was transferred to the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF). The bank, which has been under the management of the TMSF for a long time, is changing hands with a sales auction to be held next week.
The auction date announced by the TMSF in October for the sale of the bank was initially postponed, and then February 17 was officially confirmed. While the transfer of Bank Pozitif via auction has attracted great interest in the business world, it was reported that the estimated sale price has been set at 1 billion 100 million TL.
Parties interested in the bank are required to complete their applications and deposit a guarantee of 55 million TL. Bids submitted in accordance with the closed-envelope tender procedure must be delivered to the TMSF by Monday; the auction will conclude on Tuesday with an open bidding session.
