Banking index loses 0.22 percent, holding index loses 1.31 percent

Moving with a downward trend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index fell by 127.57 points compared to the previous close, reaching 7,621.28 points as of 13:00. The total trading volume was 34.4 billion lira.
The banking index lost 0.22 percent, and the holding index lost 1.31 percent.
While all sector indices declined, the financial leasing and factoring sector was the biggest loser with a 4.38 percent drop.
Analysts stated that global equity markets have followed a positive course following the continued slowdown of inflation in the US, adding that the final interest rate decision of the year to be announced by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) today and the statements to be made by Fed Chair Jerome Powell after the meeting have become the focus of investors.
Stating that it is considered certain that the Fed will keep the policy rate constant in the 5.25-5.50 percent range for the third consecutive meeting, analysts noted that clues regarding the Bank's future monetary policy will be sought in Fed Chair Jerome Powell's forward guidance.
Analysts noted that in addition to the Fed's interest rate decision and Powell's statements in the afternoon, the Producer Price Index (PPI) data in the country will also be monitored, and recorded that from a technical perspective, the 7,590 and 7,400 levels are support, while 7,760 and 7,860 points are resistance for the BIST 100 index.
