BIST 100 index declines in the first half of the day
The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul fell by 1.37 percent in the first half of the day, dropping to 8,944.81 points.

Moving with a downward trend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index fell by 124.22 points to 8,944.81 points as of 13:00, compared to the previous close. The total trading volume was 38.3 billion liras.
The banking index lost 4.77 percent, while the holding index lost 1.22 percent.
Among the sector indices, the sports sector was the top gainer with 2.66 percent, while the banking sector saw the largest decline.
Analysts stated that in global equity markets, risk appetite remained alive as expectations that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) could begin interest rate cuts in June did not change, despite inflation in the US exceeding expectations yesterday.
Analysts noted that from a technical perspective, the 8,900 level is support for the BIST 100 index, while 9,100 and 9,200 points are resistance levels.
