According to data shared by Cryptoslam, NFT sales on the Bitcoin network surpassed Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Polygon (MATIC), rising to 881 million dollars.
SHOWED A 312 PERCENT INCREASE
According to the data, while the monthly figure for the second-largest blockchain, Ethereum, was 364 million dollars, Bitcoin doubled its rival in sales. Solana-based NFT sales increased by 312% compared to the previous month, marking a significant rise, yet it continued to remain behind Bitcoin and Ethereum.
According to Cryptoslam data, the largest NFT sale of the month was a digital copy of Vincent Van Gogh's famous Self-Portrait 1888 (Van Gogh's painting #216), which changed hands for 1.19 million dollars. The Ethereum-based The Frxethredemption Ticket #33 was sold for 638.4 thousand dollars.
While sales fell by 35 percent in the final weeks of December due to the Christmas holiday, the total monthly figure was recorded at 1.7 billion dollars. Thus, the NFT market expanded by 69 percent compared to November.
Several factors were effective in the rise of NFT sales at the end of the year. In addition to the increase in Bitcoin and altcoin prices, the fact that BTC NFTs charge lower transaction fees compared to Ethereum brought the leading crypto network to the forefront.
