The price of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin has surpassed the $66,000 level.

According to data from the analysis firm Coinmarketcap, the price of Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency, has gained 2.88 percent in the last 24 hours.

Trading at $66,134 as of 11:08 AM TSI today, Bitcoin's weekly gain has reached 17.57 percent.

FAR FROM RECORD LEVEL

Bitcoin has gained more than 100 percent in value since October 2023, but it remains far from its record level of $68,990 in December 2021.

Bitcoin's price had gained approximately 157 percent in value last year.

Bitcoin's price reached a record level in December 2021 following its last halving process in May 2020.
