Founded in 1980 and providing the world's most advanced enterprise software solutions in the fields of mainframe, automation, orchestration, operations, and service management today, BMC Software is signing a significant strategic investment in Turkey with its 30-year business partner VBT.

BMC Software is among the world's leading software companies with an annual revenue of 2.3 billion dollars.

In October of last year, VBT, which signed an exclusive distributorship agreement with BMC Software in Turkey, established Disnet Teknoloji A.Ş. to operate within the scope of this agreement. Aiming to generate 50 million $ in revenue over 5 years, VBT announced that following this investment, it will now establish a Center of Excellence in Istanbul together with BMC. The Center of Excellence will begin its operations as of January 01, 2026.

The establishment announcement was made yesterday at a press conference attended by senior executives from BMC Software and VBT. The meeting was attended by VBT Chairman of the Board Birol Başaran, BMC Software Global Vice President Sam Lakkundi, BMC Software CTO Ram Chakravarti, and BMC Software Global Vice President of Sales Maurice Groeneveld.

“WE WILL CARRY OUR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE TO THE MIDDLE EAST, AFRICA, AND EUROPE”

VBT Yazılım Chairman of the Board Birol Başaran stated that their 30-year partnership has entered a new phase and expressed the following:

“We have carried out numerous successful projects with BMC Software both in Turkey and in our region. We achieved significant gains with the distributorship agreement we signed in 2024. Now, with this new Center of Excellence, we are taking our cooperation one step further and carrying the experience, knowledge, and expertise we have gained from Turkey to the entire EMEA region.”

“THE CENTER WILL BE THE FOCUS OF INNOVATION”

BMC Software Global Vice President Sam Lakkundi drew attention to the innovation-focused structure of the center and spoke as follows:

“This initiative will serve as a laboratory where we can demonstrate in detail the value our solutions provide to organizations. We will be able to quickly perform demo studies in different scenarios. At the same time, we will support the interoperability of BMC products with solutions developed by VBT. Our goal is to create an innovation center that starts in Turkey and spreads to the entire EMEA region.”

“VBT’S ENGINEERING POWER MAKES A DIFFERENCE”

BMC Software CTO Ram Chakravarti emphasized VBT's technical competence:

“As BMC Software, while offering the best solutions in our field, we constantly invest in innovation. However, we could not have reached this point without a strong business partner like VBT. VBT's engineering staff is very talented and experienced. The flawless operation of our solutions in our customers' critical systems is the result of this strong cooperation. The Center of Excellence will take this success even further.”

“MAINFRAME SYSTEMS MAINTAIN THEIR POWER”

BMC Software Global Vice President of Sales Maurice Groeneveld touched upon the importance of IBM Mainframe systems:

“Although many people have predicted for years that other systems would replace mainframe technologies, we are facing the exact opposite picture. The mainframe and its surrounding ecosystem are even stronger today. Moreover, these technologies are successfully integrating with innovative artificial intelligence solutions such as GenAI. As BMC Software, the solutions we offer in this field ensure that our customers' critical applications run without interruption. Our business partner VBT, which knows the technology very well and has competent staff, has a large share in this success.”

It was stated that this new structure, which VBT Yazılım is carrying out with BMC Software, will be positioned as an innovation, training, demo laboratory, and regional support base, and will strengthen Turkey's international role in the field of software.
