Borsa Istanbul closes the week with gains: Here are the top gainers and losers
Moving under the shadow of global uncertainties, the BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul closed the week with a 1.88 percent increase. While banking and industrial stocks stood out, the week's top gainers and losers were also determined.

The atmosphere of war in the Middle East, fluctuations in energy prices, and the environment of fighting inflation continue to impact international markets. The various statements by Trump, which cause uncertainty in the political arena, and the failure of regional ceasefire efforts are also being felt in economic indicators. In a week spent under the influence of this anxiety, the BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul returned gains to its investors.
Entering the week at 12,709 points, the index saw its peak at 13,078 points mid-week, while recording its lowest level at 12,622 points. At the close of the week, the BIST 100 index reached 12,936 points with a 1.88 percent increase. Since the beginning of the year, the rate of increase in the index has approached the 15 percent level.
The increases in the banking, industrial, and holding indices were 2.44 percent, 2.59 percent, and 1.76 percent, respectively, on a weekly basis.
TOP GAINERS AND LOSERS
The star of the past week in the BIST 100 was Katılım Evim (KTLEV) with a 16.36 percent rise. It was followed by Gen İlaç (GENIL) with a 13.46 percent gain and Tureks Turizm Taşımacılık (TUREX) with a 10.77 percent gain.
On the other hand, the stock that experienced the sharpest decline of the week was recorded as Efor Yatırım (EFOR) with 20.39 percent. Pasifik GMYO (PSGYO) with 12.32 percent and Kontrolmatik (KONTR) with 10.07 percent were the other companies that suffered losses.
Among the companies on Borsa Istanbul, the leadership in terms of market capitalization remained with Aselsan (ASELS) at 1 trillion 507 billion 80 million TL. Destek Finans Faktoring (DSTKF) took second place with 652 billion TL, while Enka İnşaat (ENKAI) maintained its third-place position with a market capitalization of 561 billion 900 million TL.
The stock with the highest trading volume last week stood out as Türk Hava Yolları (THYAO) with 49 billion 514 million TL. It was followed by Tüpraş (TUPRS) with 42 billion 799 million TL in transactions and Akbank (AKBNK) with 28 billion 768 million TL.
In Borsa Istanbul, which displayed an optimistic performance in the shadow of geopolitical tension, investors are expected to continue following domestic and foreign developments closely in the coming period.
