Borsa Istanbul starts the new week with gains
The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul opened the first trading day of the week with a 0.25 percent increase, starting at 9,972.96 points.

In Borsa Istanbul, where buying was dominant in the previous session, the BIST 100 index gained 5.78 percent, marking its fastest daily rise since May 11, 2023, and closed the day at the 9,948.51 point level.
At the first opening of the week, the BIST 100 index showed an increase of 24.45 points compared to the previous close. The banking index started the day with a 0.34 percent gain, while the holding index rose by 0.23 percent.
Looking at the sectors, the sports index was the top gainer with a 0.99 percent rise, while the mining index stood out as the biggest loser with a 1.19 percent decline.

Global markets are following a volatile course due to the impact of current uncertainties regarding customs tariffs. Investors are closely following the Central Banking Forum organized by the European Central Bank today.
Experts state that in addition to the manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data to be announced worldwide today, Eurozone inflation figures and the JOLTS job openings data in the US are significant for the markets. Technically, it is noted that the 10,000 and 10,100 point levels are being monitored as resistance for the BIST 100 index, while the 9,900 and 9,800 levels are being watched as support points.
