Bread price hike in İzmir
Starting August 1, the sale price of a 200-gram loaf of bread in İzmir will be 15 TL. While the İzmir Chamber of Commerce (İZTO) Assembly unanimously approved the price increase, approval from the Ministry of Trade is pending for the decision to take effect.

A new decision regarding the bread price tariff was made during the July ordinary assembly meeting of the İzmir Chamber of Commerce (İZTO).
At the meeting held in the İZTO Assembly Hall, the proposal to increase the maximum sale price of a 200-gram loaf of bread from 12.5 TL to 15 TL was accepted unanimously by the assembly members.
While approval from the Ministry of Trade is awaited regarding the price hike decision, it was stated that the decision will be effective as of August 1.
According to the decision, a 200-gram loaf of bread in İzmir will be sold for 15 TL starting from August 1, 2025. The new price tariff will be valid throughout İzmir.
The bread price hike was brought to the agenda due to the increase in input costs.
