Breaking News... 6% drop in Borsa İstanbul: Circuit breaker triggered
After losses in the BIST 100 index exceeded 6%, the index-based circuit breaker system was activated.

Selling pressure deepened throughout the day at Borsa İstanbul. The BIST 100 index, which had risen to 13,877.35 points during the session, fell sharply following the subsequent sell-off.
As of 16:04, the index dropped to 13,057.26 points, with the daily loss reaching 6.01%. This resulted in a loss of 834.92 points in the BIST 100.
Following the decline crossing the critical threshold, the Index-Based Circuit Breaker System was activated. In a statement made by Borsa İstanbul to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was reported that the circuit breaker was triggered as of 16:04:32.
Within the scope of the application, trading was temporarily halted across all transaction queues in the Equity Market. Transactions in contracts based on equities and equity indices in the Futures and Options Market (VİOP), as well as in the Debt Securities Market Equity Repo Market, were also suspended.
