Breaking News... Borsa Istanbul is racing toward a record: BIST 100 at its peak

The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul began the day with a 0.55 percent increase, opening at 11,195.98 points. Continuing its rise throughout the session, the index reached an all-time high of 11,263.83 points. Analysts note that holding company stocks are playing a leading role in the upward trend.

YESTERDAY'S PERFORMANCE

A buying-oriented trend was observed at Borsa Istanbul yesterday. The BIST 100 index closed the day with a 1.58 percent increase at 11,134.73 points.

STARTED THE DAY WITH A 0.55 PERCENT INCREASE

At the opening, the index rose by 61.25 points compared to the previous close, reaching 11,195.98 points. The banking index gained 0.96 percent, while the holding index showed an increase of 0.55 percent.

STATUS OF SECTORS

Among the sector indices, the textile and leather sector was the top gainer with 1.37 percent, while the mining sector stood out as the only sector to lose value, with a decline of 0.07 percent.

Investors are focused today on the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium, which begins in the US. Analysts state that they will closely follow the consumer confidence index and weekly money-bank statistics domestically, and the manufacturing and services sector Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data abroad. From a technical perspective, the 11,300 and 11,400 levels stand out as resistance points for the BIST 100 index, while 11,100 and 11,000 points serve as support levels.
