The Inflation Research Group (ENAG) has announced its inflation figures for September.
The ENAG Consumer Price Index (E-CPI) rose by 5.34 percent in September. The 12-month increase in the E-CPI was recorded at 88.63 percent.
When taking TurkStat sub-groups as an indicator, the highest increase occurred in the "Clothing and footwear" category with 10.93 percent. The largest monthly decrease was in the "Restaurants and hotels" group at -0.44 percent.
ENAG had announced the August inflation data as 3.47 percent. Annual inflation in August was reported as 90.35 percent.
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute's (TurkStat) August inflation calculation, the CPI increased by 2.47 percent compared to the previous month, 51.97 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and 64.91 percent based on 12-month averages.
ISTANBUL'S INFLATION
Leading indicators pointed to an increase in inflation in September. According to data from the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, retail prices in Istanbul increased by 3.90 percent and wholesale prices by 4.67 percent in September compared to the previous month.
In Istanbul, the product with the highest price increase in September compared to the previous month was lead pencils, while the product with the largest decrease was lemons.
