Turkey's bus, minibus, and midibus exports in the first 9 months of the year exceeded 1.5 billion dollars. According to data compiled from the records of the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association, Turkey's bus, minibus, and midibus exports increased by 66.78 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
Exports, which were 918 million 949 thousand dollars in the first 9 months of last year, rose to 1 billion 532 million 695 thousand dollars in the same period this year.
The sector's exports in 9 months surpassed the 1 billion 469 million 272 thousand dollars in exports made during the entirety of last year.
During this period, Turkey, which sent vehicles to 75 countries, carried out the most exports to France, Germany, and Italy.
Exports to France increased by over 45 percent compared to the first 9 months of last year, rising from 226 million 939 thousand dollars to 330 million 427 thousand dollars.
Germany became the second country to which the sector exported the most. Bus, minibus, and midibus exports to Germany reached 189 million 726 thousand dollars in the January-September period, an increase of over 107 percent compared to the same months last year, up from 91 million 283 thousand dollars.
Exports to Italy, where 66 million 909 thousand dollars worth of buses, minibuses, and midibuses were exported last year, were recorded at 165 million 633 thousand dollars, an increase of 147.5 percent.
SIGNIFICANT INCREASES IN EXPORTS TO IRAQ AND NEW ZEALAND
A significant increase was also observed in the exports made by sector representatives to Spain, which is in 4th place on the list. Bus, minibus, and midibus exports to this country rose from 24 million 53 thousand dollars to 111 million 778 thousand dollars in January-September, an increase of over 364 percent compared to the same months last year.
Among the top 10 countries with the highest exports, 84 million 542 thousand dollars worth of vehicles were sold to the United Kingdom, 77 million 57 thousand to Romania, 63 million 662 thousand to Poland, 60 million 657 thousand to Israel, 50 million 815 thousand to the USA, and 48 million 115 thousand to Hungary.
Exports to Lithuania, one of the countries where the sector significantly increased its exports, rose from 2 million 435 thousand dollars to 33 million 400 thousand dollars, an increase of over 1271 percent.
Exports to New Zealand, where 166 thousand dollars worth of buses, minibuses, and midibuses were exported in the same period last year, increased by 2 thousand 904 percent and were recorded at 5 million 12 thousand dollars. Exports to Iraq also rose from 148 thousand dollars to 4 million 369 thousand dollars, an increase of 2 thousand 836 percent.
