CBRT reserves continue to decline

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey's (CBRT) total gross reserves decreased by 3 percent in the week of September 11; net reserves fell to 62.2 billion dollars.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey's (CBRT) International Reserves and Foreign Currency Liquidity data for the week of September 11 has been released. According to the data, the bank's total gross reserve assets decreased by 3 percent compared to the previous week, reaching 178.7 billion dollars.

In the same week, the CBRT's foreign currency assets stood at 68.5 billion dollars. Reserve assets in the form of gold fell by 3.1 percent on a weekly basis to 110.3 billion dollars.

A decline was also recorded in net reserves. Net reserves, which were 65.6 billion dollars the previous week, fell to 62.2 billion dollars in the week of September 11. Thus, the weekly decrease in net reserves was calculated at 3.4 billion dollars.

Net reserves excluding swaps fell from 53.4 billion dollars to 49.9 billion dollars. The weekly decline in this item was 3.5 billion dollars.
