CBRT revokes operating licenses of two electronic money companies

The CBRT decisions regarding the revocation of the operating licenses of Payco and Junomoney as electronic money institutions have been published in the Official Gazette.

The decisions taken by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) regarding the revocation of the operating licenses of Payco Elektronik Para ve Ödeme Hizmetleri A.Ş. and Junomoney Elektronik Para ve Ödeme Hizmetleri A.Ş. have been published in the Official Gazette.

According to the communiqués published in the Official Gazette dated August 26, 2026, and numbered 33352, the previously granted permissions for the two companies to operate as electronic money institutions have been removed.

Payco was granted an operating license as an electronic money institution by the CBRT decision dated July 28, 2022, and numbered 11287/20886. The Central Bank decided to revoke this license with its decision dated August 21, 2026, and numbered 12076/21675.

A similar process was followed for Junomoney. The operating license granted to the company with the decision dated May 20, 2025, and numbered 11844/21443, was revoked by the CBRT's decision dated August 21, 2026, and numbered 12077/21676.

The communiqués stated that the revocation decisions were taken in accordance with Article 16, paragraph 1, clauses (ç) and (e), and Article 19 of the Law No. 6493 on Payment and Securities Settlement Systems, Payment Services, and Electronic Money Institutions.
