With this agreement, it is planned to strengthen cooperation between the central banks of the two countries and to conduct technical studies within an institutional framework in the field of "central banking."
The written statement issued by the CBRT is as follows:
"A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey and the Bank of Spain on February 1, 2024, to establish a basis for developing cooperation on central banking issues. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan and Bank of Spain Governor Pablo Hernández de Cos in Madrid, Spain. Within the scope of the agreement, it is planned to strengthen cooperation between the central banks of the two countries and to conduct technical studies within an institutional framework in the field of central banking."
