Columnist Cem Küçük, known for his proximity to the government, has warned citizens ahead of the Central Bank's interest rate decision.

In the Monetary Policy Committee interest rate decision to be announced tomorrow, the bank had raised the policy rate to 30 percent in the previous meeting.

Stating on a live broadcast that he expects another interest rate decision, Cem Küçük warned millions of citizens who use credit cards to pay off their debts.

"PAY OFF YOUR DEBTS BY THURSDAY"

"Those who use credit cards, pay off your debts by Thursday; these interest rates will hit you hard!" said Küçük, noting that the decision to be made tomorrow would increase the debts of millions of people, and added the following:

"Markets expect the Central Bank to go for a fifth interest rate hike. Morgan Stanley announced that they expect the Central Bank to raise the interest rate to 35 percent with a 500 basis point increase at its October 26 meeting."
