The Minimum Wage Determination Commission will hold its first meeting today.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan disappointed millions of workers by stating that there will be only one raise for the minimum wage in 2024.
Ahead of the critical meeting, journalist Cem Küçük, known for his proximity to the government, shared the inside information he obtained regarding the minimum wage during a live broadcast he attended.
"ERDOĞAN WILL ROUND IT UP TO 40 PERCENT"
Stating that there should be a 38 percent increase in the minimum wage when current inflation conditions are considered, Cem Küçük expressed his belief that Erdoğan will round this rate up to 40 percent.
"17,500 TL MIGHT BE IN ERDOĞAN'S MIND"
Stating that a 40 percent increase would raise the current minimum wage of 11,400 TL to 15,960 TL in 2024, Cem Küçük said, "Since it will be given only once, the idea of raising this figure to 17,500 TL might be in Erdoğan's mind."
"ERDOĞAN HAD THE COST CALCULATED"
Continuing his speech, Cem Küçük said he heard that President Erdoğan had requested research to be conducted on how much a 17,500 TL minimum wage would cost the budget.
