The details of the meeting held between the CBRT and the TBB have been revealed. Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan sent a message of determination to the markets, while a call was made for foreign investors to trust Turkey.
The Banks Association of Turkey stated in an announcement on its website that the meeting was hosted by the Central Bank. Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan conveyed to the banks at the meeting that they would take all necessary measures within the framework of market rules.
The announcement included the statement, 'In the technical meeting held, it was emphasized that with the close cooperation of all relevant institutions, all kinds of tools will continue to be used effectively and decisively within market rules to maintain stability.'
According to a Reuters report, Karahan emphasized that the CBRT would take every necessary step in the market, stating the following:
'We attach importance to our measures being market-friendly. We are using all our tools proactively. Our two-way communication channels are constantly open.'
