Central Bank announces KKM balance

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced that the total stock balance of Foreign Currency Protected Deposit/Participation accounts decreased by 1.5 billion dollars in April, falling to 72.8 billion dollars.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) has begun publishing data regarding the April stock balances of Foreign Currency Protected Deposit/Participation (DDKKM) and Turkish Lira Protected Deposit/Participation (TL KKM) accounts.

According to the data, the DDKKM stock balance, which was 74.3 billion dollars at the end of March, decreased by 1.5 billion dollars in April to 72.8 billion dollars. The individual DDKKM stock balance fell by 500 million dollars from 51.9 billion dollars to 51.4 billion dollars, while the corporate DDKKM stock balance decreased by 1.1 billion dollars from 22.4 billion dollars to 21.3 billion dollars.

The Turkish Lira KKM stock balance also decreased by 33.7 billion liras in April, falling from 98.8 billion liras to 65.1 billion liras. This amount was calculated to be approximately 2 billion dollars.

The announced data showed that the total KKM balance is around 75 billion dollars.
