Central Bank announces: New banknotes have entered circulation!

New banknotes bearing the signature of Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan have entered circulation. In a statement, the Central Bank announced that the E9 Emission Group VIII. series 200 TL and VII. series 50 TL banknotes have been put into circulation as of today.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) has put new 200 and 50 TL banknotes into circulation as of today. From now on, the signatures on the 200 TL banknotes will feature Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan and Deputy Governor Osman Cevdet Akçay.

The E9 Emission Group VIII. series 200 TL and VII. series 50 TL banknotes have been put into circulation as of today.

In the Central Bank's announcement, it was stated that, based on the authority granted to the CBRT by Law No. 1211, the E9 Emission Group VIII. series 200 TL and VII. series 50 TL banknotes would be put into circulation starting today.

The announcement noted that compared to the previous series of E9 Emission Group banknotes currently in circulation, the signatures on the VIII. series 200 TL banknotes have been arranged to include those of Governor Dr. Fatih Karahan and Deputy Governor Dr. Osman Cevdet Akçay. It was also noted that the VII. series 50 TL banknotes, which were printed during the tenure of Dr. Hafize Gaye Erkan, feature the signatures of Erkan and Deputy Governor Prof. Dr. Hatice Karahan.

The announcement included the following statement: "Except for the signatures on them, these banknotes are identical to the previous series in terms of their dimensions, front and back face compositions, and general characteristics and appearance. The new series of banknotes will circulate concurrently with the previous series."
