Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) Governor Fatih Karahan met with investors in Washington.
It was learned that in the meetings he held there, Karahan gave the message that they would also take the dimension of the minimum wage increase into consideration while shaping the 2025 monetary policy.
According to sources who spoke to Bloomberg and referred to information obtained from Karahan's meeting with investors on Wednesday (October 23), Karahan gave the message that a minimum wage increase of around 25 percent would be consistent with the 2025 inflation outlook.
WHEN WILL THE MINIMUM WAGE BE ANNOUNCED?
The Minimum Wage Determination Commission will conclude its work in December and announce the 2025 minimum wage to the public. The announced wage will be considered as an indicator for other salaried employees as well as those working for the minimum wage.
