Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan to give presentation at Parliament
Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan will give a presentation to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Planning and Budget Committee on October 3. Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan will meet with lawmakers at the Parliament for the first time on October 3, following the start of the 28th Term, 2nd Legislative Year of the TBMM. Erkan is scheduled to give a presentation to the Committee, which will convene on October 3 under the chairmanship of TBMM Planning and Budget Committee Chairman and AKP Samsun Deputy Mehmet Muş.
Central Bank Governor Erkan is expected to deliver a comprehensive presentation covering global developments, the Turkish economy, inflation, and the monetary policy framework.
It is anticipated that the meeting's prominent topics will include the CBRT's recent decisions regarding interest rates and the Currency-Protected Deposit (KKM) scheme, as well as developments concerning inflation.
Central Bank Governor Erkan is also planned to brief the Committee on legal and administrative regulations concerning the Central Bank that are expected to be brought before the TBMM.
According to the Law on the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the Governor is required to inform the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee about the Bank's activities and monetary policy implementations.
