Central Bank inflation expectations survey: Household inflation expectations rise

The Central Bank (TCMB) has released its sectoral inflation expectations for March. According to the data released, while a decline was observed in 12-month annual inflation forecasts among market participants and the real sector, household expectations increased.

The inflation forecast of market participants for the coming year fell by 0.7 points compared to February, dropping to 24.6 percent. The expectations of real sector representatives also declined by 0.8 points to 41.1 percent. In contrast, the 12-month inflation expectation of households increased by 0.1 points to 59.3 percent.

A notable increase was observed in the proportion of households that believe inflation will fall over the next 12 months. This rate, which was 28.3 percent in February, rose by 3 points in March to 31.3 percent.

MARCH INFLATION EXPECTATION IS 2.47 PERCENT

While consumer inflation for March 2025 has not yet been announced, expectation surveys from market actors have begun to be shared with the public. According to the FKB-EGE bulletin prepared in cooperation with the Financial Institutions Association (FKB) and Istanbul University, the inflation forecast for March is 2.47 percent.
The FKB Economic Outlook Index (FKB-EGE) in the same bulletin rose by 2.78 points in February compared to the previous month, reaching 100.68 points.
