WHAT DO THE MARKETS EXPECT?

Economists participating in the AA Finance expectation survey anticipate that the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) will cut the policy rate by 150 basis points in December, bringing it down to 38 percent.
The expectation survey conducted by AA Finance for the Central Bank's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, scheduled for Thursday, December 11, was concluded with the participation of 38 economists.
ECONOMISTS' RATE CUT FORECASTS
Of the economists participating in the expectation survey, 14 predicted a 100-basis-point cut, 17 predicted a 150-basis-point cut, and 7 predicted a 200-basis-point cut to the policy rate.
MEDIAN EXPECTATION
The median of the economists' expectations for the December MPC decision was for the policy rate to be reduced by 150 basis points to 38 percent.
The policy rate expectations of the economists participating in the survey ranged between 37.50 percent and 38.50 percent.
