The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) has published its 2024 Monetary Policy, which serves as a roadmap for the policies to be followed next year. The report states that the 7-day period prior to the MPC meeting is referred to as the "quiet period," during which no external communication regarding monetary policy is conducted, noting: "During this period, units providing technical input to the decision-making process for the purpose of preparing for the MPC meeting conduct comprehensive analyses and evaluations for the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). The MPC will hold 12 meetings in 2024 within the framework of a pre-announced calendar. The monetary policy decision and its brief rationale will be published on the CBRT website at 14:00 on the same day as the meeting, along with its English translation, while the meeting summary containing the detailed evaluations of the MPC will be published within 5 business days following the meeting."

The report, which also includes the steps taken by the Central Bank last year, shared information regarding the monetary policy, simplification of the macroprudential framework, quantitative tightening, and selective credit decisions taken in 2023, as well as macroprudential regulations aimed at Turkish Lira deposits.
