Cherry prices saw the highest increase in Istanbul in June

According to the June 2025 report shared by the ITO, cherries were identified as the product with the highest price increase in the Istanbul retail market. By examining the price changes of 336 main products, the ITO observed an increase in the prices of 180 products and a decrease in 46 products in June.

In the June index, cherries, which are in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group, topped the list with an increase rate of 44.29 percent. Thus, cherries drew attention both in terms of percentage and the jump in their price per kilogram.

Throughout last month, the price per kilogram of cherries nearly approached 500 liras, making it the product that consumers encountered with the highest price hike. This increase in the price of cherries, which are in high demand especially during the summer season, was noticeably felt in markets and on grocery shelves.

The reports that the ITO releases regularly every month continue to be an important resource for those who closely follow price changes in Istanbul.
