China's fossil fuel production and imports increased in 11 months
In China, the production and imports of fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas, and coal showed an increase in the first 11 months of 2023 compared to the same period last year.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, coal production increased by 2.9 percent, crude oil production by 1.8 percent, and natural gas production by 6 percent year-on-year during the January-November period.
During the same period, coal imports rose by 62.9 percent, crude oil imports by 12.1 percent, and natural gas imports by 8.5 percent.
Coal production reached 4.24 billion tons in 11 months. In the same period, 4.27 billion tons of coal were imported annually.
With state-owned coal supplier companies ending the unofficial boycott they had applied to imported coal from Australia for two years as of the beginning of this year, coal imports increased to a level exceeding domestic production. The more advantageous price of imported coal was also effective in this increase.
Crude oil production rose to 191.25 million tons in 11 months, and oil imports reached 515.65 million tons.
Natural gas production reached 209.6 billion cubic meters. Natural gas imports amounted to 107.4 million tons.
