Reacting to the inflation figures announced by TURKSTAT, Özel stated, "While the real inflation is 127 percent, TURKSTAT announces it as 64 percent. The institution is stealing money from the pockets of pensioners."

Stating that a retiree from Germany can board a plane and come to Manavgat for a vacation, while a retiree from Turkey cannot even go to the greengrocer with peace of mind, Özel said, "Hans gets up and comes to Manavgat for a vacation, while Hasan cannot even go to the greengrocer."

"While the main things that should be discussed in this country are the cost of living, inflation, and the pensioners who are crushed by it, they always want other things to be discussed. They declared this year the 'Year of the Pensioner,' and at the beginning of the year, they announced figures that would mock the pensioners.

Since you called it the 'Year of the Pensioner' but did not do what was necessary, at least today is the pensioners' day, and I will not talk about anything else.

In a place where the Constitution is ignored, where laws have no force, and where seeking rights has disappeared, no one should be surprised that the economy is in this state. However, instead of making deep economic analyses today, I want to touch upon what we are experiencing, what you are experiencing, what they are making you experience, and what they are doing as a result.
