Civil servant overtime pay has been determined

According to information compiled from the 2024 Central Government Budget Law Proposal, the hourly overtime pay for civil servants will increase by 87 percent in the new year. The hourly overtime rate, which was 5 lira 40 kuruş in 2023, will rise to 10 lira 10 kuruş as of January 1, 2024.

For all personnel, including official drivers working in the private secretariats of ministries, an overtime payment of 10 lira 70 kuruş instead of 5 lira 70 kuruş will be paid in the new year, not to exceed 90 hours per month, and for drivers working in the central organizations of general directorates, not to exceed 60 hours.

10 LIRA 70 KURUS PAYMENT WILL BE MADE

For personnel working with board chairmen (ministries), general managers and higher-level unit managers, heads of strategy development, governors, and heads of departments and higher-level unit managers in the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, force commands, the Gendarmerie General Command, and the Coast Guard Command, provided they hold the rank of general or admiral, as well as rectors, metropolitan and provincial mayors, a payment of 10 lira 70 kuruş per hour will be made, not to exceed 90 hours per month, with a total monthly limit of 450 hours for each office.

10 LIRA 10 KURUS ADDITIONAL PAYMENT

For personnel working in dormitories affiliated with the General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories and universities who cannot be granted leave in return for the overtime they have performed, an additional payment of 10 lira 10 kuruş per hour will be made, not to exceed 90 hours per month.

Administrative personnel of the Ministry of National Education working in vocational and technical secondary education institutions associated with vocational colleges located in vocational and technical education regions will be paid 17 lira 20 kuruş per hour for the overtime they actually perform after the end of the legal working hours, not to exceed 100 hours per month.

DOMESTIC PER DIEMS

Domestic per diem and compensation amounts to be paid in accordance with the Travel Allowance Law have also been redetermined. In the new year, the domestic per diem amount to be paid to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and the Vice Presidents will increase from 270 lira to 500 lira.

The domestic per diem for the President of the Constitutional Court, ministers, the Chief of General Staff, members of parliament, force commanders, the Gendarmerie General Commander, the Coast Guard Commander, the Head of Administrative Affairs of the Presidency, the Secretary General of the TBMM, generals, admirals, the presidents of the Court of Cassation, the Council of State, the Court of Jurisdictional Disputes, and the Court of Accounts, the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation, the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Council of State, the Presidents of the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Council of Higher Education, and the Chief Ombudsman will increase from 250 lira to 480 lira.

The domestic per diem amount will increase to 465 lira for civil servants in positions with an additional indicator of 8000 and higher. Civil servants at the lowest level will be paid 400 lira.
