Following the announcement of June inflation data by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the July raise rate for public officials and civil servant retirees has been finalized. With 6-month inflation at 17.76 percent, the increase to be applied to civil servants and civil servant retirees was calculated at 13.52 percent.

With the new rate, the lowest civil servant salary rose to 70,224 Turkish Liras, and the lowest civil servant retirement pension rose to 31,527 Turkish Liras. While civil servants began receiving their increased salaries as of July 15, eyes have turned to the payment schedule for the 14-day salary difference covering the July 1-14 period.

WHEN WILL THE PAYMENTS BE MADE?

Since civil servant salaries are paid in advance on the 15th of every month, the 14-day difference resulting from the July raise will be deposited through a separate calculation. The difference payments are expected to be made after institutions complete their payroll and accounting processes.

According to past practices, it is estimated that in some institutions, the differences may be deposited along with the July 15 salary, while in others, they may reach accounts by the third week of July. The exact payment schedule is expected to be announced by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance or the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

Those who receive their salaries every month and those who receive payments in the May-June-July period will be paid a 1-month raise difference; those who receive payments in the June-July-August period will be paid a 2-month difference; and those who receive payments in the July-August-September period will be paid a 3-month raise difference.

It is calculated that the 1-month difference for civil servant retirees will vary between approximately 3,729 TL and 13,356 TL depending on the title. It is stated that the lowest amount to be paid to a retiree entitled to a 3-month difference will be 11,265 TL.
