Claim: Central Bank is paying Hafize Gaye Erkan's rent!
It has been alleged that the rent for the house where Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan resides in Ankara is being paid by the Central Bank, despite her complaints about exorbitant rents in Istanbul.

Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan had stated in an interview with Ahmet Hakan, Editor-in-Chief of the pro-government Hürriyet newspaper, “We couldn't find a house in Istanbul. It's incredibly expensive. We moved in with my parents; we are staying with them.”
Central Bank Governor Erkan, who complained about high rents in Istanbul and announced she was staying with her mother, resides in a residential complex in Ankara.
35 THOUSAND LIRA RENT, 7 THOUSAND LIRA MAINTENANCE FEE
According to a report by Sözcü, the Central Bank pays a monthly rent of 35 thousand lira for the 270-square-meter gross apartment rented for Erkan.
Including VAT and the 7 thousand lira maintenance fee, the monthly payment reaches 49 thousand lira.
The report stated that although there is a “Governor's Residence” belonging to the bank, Erkan did not find it suitable due to her young child.
The residential complex where the apartment was rented for Hafize Gaye Erkan features a fitness center, sauna, steam room, cafeteria, swimming pool, and a 1,500-square-meter indoor sports hall. In the complex, which contains a total of 359 residences, there is also an 8,500-square-meter artificial pond, a forest area consisting of 4,000 trees, bicycle and walking paths, a tennis court, and a basketball court. In addition to high-rise blocks, the complex also includes villas. Apartments in the high-rise blocks are sold for 27-30 million lira, while villas are sold for 55-60 million lira.
