SERIOUS PROGRESS IN COFFEE PREPARATION AND PRESENTATION
Osman Serim, Vice President of the Turkish Coffee Culture and Research Association, stated that Turkey has made serious progress in recent years regarding the preparation and presentation of coffee.
Stating that Turkey is not a coffee production center, Serim reported that despite this, the production and export of coffee machines suitable for the "cezve coffee" method, branded processed coffees, and porcelain and glass serving materials have contributed to the spread of Turkish coffee in different countries.
"IT WILL BRING TURKEY TO THE FOREFRONT IN CREATING COFFEESHOP CHAINS"
Pointing out that Italy, which stands out in terms of added value and turnover despite not farming coffee, could be a good example for Turkey in this regard, Serim noted the following:
"As in the Italian example, it is important to develop machinery and other technological productions. Developing machines and equipment capable of making Turkish coffee, in addition to the cezve, will bring Turkey to the forefront in value-added coffee brands and in creating popular 'coffeeshop' chains worldwide."
Emphasizing that both the state and the private sector should take the promotion of Turkish coffee to an advanced level, Serim added that he believes Turkish coffee will become more popular in the world in the coming years, and therefore Turkey will stand out more in this sector.
