There has been a remarkable increase in consumer complaints regarding residential construction firms. According to data shared by Şikayetvar, when comparing the same periods of 2025 and 2026, the number of complaints in this category rose from 1,482 to 3,363.
Accordingly, a 127 percent increase was recorded in the applications submitted to the platform. In numerical terms, the number of complaints regarding residential construction firms increased by 1,881 in one year.
According to the data, the most frequently voiced issues by consumers include delays in housing delivery, incomplete or defective workmanship, and failure or delay in the transfer of title deeds. The suspension or abandonment of construction, the inability to reach the firm, and the failure to refund payments after withdrawal or contract cancellation were also among the prominent topics.

In some applications reflected on the platform, consumers reported issues such as homes not delivered by the date specified in the contract, apartments delivered partially, and the inability to receive feedback from firms. In some complaints, demands for additional payments not found in the contract and delays in title deed transfers were brought to the agenda.
Among the complaint examples were consumers who stated that they were told the residence for which they signed a contract in 2022 would be delivered in 2024, but the construction had not been completed even though it was 2026. In another application, it was stated that no response could be received from the firm for the refund of a 2.5 million TL payment following the termination of the contract.
