Concordat applications hit a record high in July

The financial difficulties of companies and the contraction in production continue to threaten their sustainability. Over the last two years, court-processed concordat cases have increased significantly. According to a report prepared by Konkordatotakip.com based on data from the Press Advertisement Agency (Basın İlan Kurumu), temporary injunction decisions were issued for 358 files in July. This was recorded as a monthly record. In the same month, final injunction decisions were issued for 139 files, while the number of files resulting in bankruptcy decisions was determined to be 30, and 14 files received approval decisions.

Looking at the January-July period, the number of temporary injunction decisions increased by 105 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,617. This figure was recorded as 1,723 for the entirety of last year.

Final injunction decisions also increased by 209 percent in the January-July period, reaching 961. In the same period, decisions to reject concordat applications rose by 113 percent to 710. Bankruptcy decisions increased by 129 percent, rising to 126.

When examined on a sectoral basis, the textile industry was the most affected area. In the first seven months of 2025, temporary injunction decisions were issued for 120 files in the textile sector. Including sub-sectors such as clothing, footwear, carpets, bags, yarn manufacturing, and leather processing, the total number of concordat cases reached 161. The textile sector was followed by the construction sector with 73 files. Metal product manufacturing, aluminum processing, furniture, and plastics sectors also appeared in the rankings.
