The cost of EYT for 2024 has been determined as 577.3 billion TL in total.
According to the determination, a total of 4 million 800 thousand people will retire within the scope of the EYT practice over the next 17 years by completing their missing premium days.
The regulation brought forward the retirement dates of insured individuals covered by EYT by an average of 6 years.
As of the end of 2023, 2 million people retired under the scope of EYT, and their average age was determined to be 48.1.
According to the study, due to the increase in the number of retirees and the decrease in the number of employees with EYT, SGK's premium revenues will decrease. Retirement pensions and health payments will increase.
According to the calculations, there is a salary payment of 401.7 billion Lira, 13.7 billion Lira in bonuses paid during the two religious holidays, and a premium loss amounting to 162 billion Lira.
EMPLOYEE-RETIREE RATIO HAS FALLEN
According to the economic management's study, the total number of retirees in Turkey is 16 million 154 thousand 322 people.
The employee-retiree ratio has fallen from 1.87 in 2008 to 1.63 as of 2024.
The decline in this ratio accelerated after the EYT regulation.
RETIREMENT PENSIONS ACCOUNT FOR 63 PERCENT OF SGK EXPENDITURES
As of the end of 2023, while the share of retirement pensions within SGK's total expenditures was 63 percent, the share of health expenses was 25 percent.
