Cost of minimum wage to employers has been determined

The minimum wage to be applied as of 2025 has been set at 22,104 liras net and 26,005 liras gross.
Following the fourth meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the new minimum wage announced by Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan has a cost to the employer of 30,556 liras and 46 kuruş.
DETAILS REGARDING THE NEW MINIMUM WAGE
According to the data shared by Minister Işıkhan, the breakdown of the minimum wage, which is 26,005 liras and 50 kuruş gross, is as follows:
- Net Minimum Wage: 22,104 liras and 67 kuruş
- SSI Premium (Employee Share): 3,640 liras and 77 kuruş
- Unemployment Insurance Premium (Employee Share): 260 liras and 6 kuruş
With the employer obligations added to the gross wage, the total cost consists of the following items:
- SSI Premium (Employer Share): 4,030 liras and 85 kuruş
- Employer Unemployment Insurance Premium: 520 liras and 11 kuruş
With these additions, the total cost for an employer for one worker has reached 30,556 liras and 46 kuruş.
STATE SUPPORT INCREASED
In his statement, Minister Işıkhan announced that the minimum wage support provided to employers has been increased from 700 liras to 1,000 liras. This support aims to slightly alleviate the financial burden on employers.
WHICH ITEMS WILL CHANGE IN THE NEW PERIOD?
As of January 1, 2025, changes will be made to many items along with the new minimum wage:
- Unemployment benefit: Will be recalculated according to the new minimum wage.
- General Health Insurance (GSS) premium: Will be applied according to updated rates.
- Severance pay: Will rise in parallel with the increased minimum wage.
- Internship wages: Will be updated in line with new regulations.
This increase in the minimum wage stands out as a regulation that directly affects 7 million employees and indirectly affects the entire society.
