Millions of workers, civil servants, and retirees in Turkey have focused on the 2025 salary hikes.
The first five months of the 6-month inflation period, which is the most critical data determining the hike rates, have become clear.
The total inflation for July, August, September, October, and November was calculated at 14.57 percent. The result will be finalized with the December inflation data.
According to the Central Bank's survey of market participants, December inflation is expected to be at the 1.72 percent level.
According to NTV's report, based on this expectation, the 6-month total inflation rate is calculated at 16.54 percent. It is projected that the new year hikes for workers, civil servants, and retirees will be shaped in line with this rate.
HOW MUCH OF A RAISE WILL RETIREE SALARIES RECEIVE?
Salary hikes for retired workers are directly tied to the 6-month inflation rate.
While the 14.57 percent hike rate was clarified as of November, considering the December expectations, a 16.54 percent hike is expected for retired workers in 2025.
WHAT WILL THE SALARY INCREASE FOR CIVIL SERVANTS AND RETIRED CIVIL SERVANTS BE?
Hike rates for civil servants and retired civil servants include both the inflation difference and collective bargaining agreement raises. Civil servants, who received a 10 percent collective bargaining raise in July, will receive an additional raise equal to the 6-month inflation difference.
According to expectations, the inflation difference will be 5.95 percent, and with the 6 percent raise stemming from the collective bargaining agreement, the total hike rate will reach 12.62 percent.
HOW MUCH WILL THE LOWEST CIVIL SERVANT SALARY BE?
In July, the lowest civil servant salary had risen to 39 thousand 177 TL.
If a 12.62 percent hike is applied in January, this figure will rise to 44 thousand 121 TL.
This increase will provide a significant contribution to family budgets.
The lowest retired civil servant salary was set at 17 thousand 587 TL in July.
With the same hike rate, this salary is expected to rise to 19 thousand 806 TL in January.
