Countdown begins for Turkey's credit rating assessment

International credit rating agency S&P Global will conduct a new assessment of Turkey's credit rating and outlook on Friday, April 25. According to a survey conducted by ForInvest News with 15 economists, Turkey's credit rating is expected to remain at the "BB-" level. The outlook is projected to remain "stable."
ECONOMISTS' EXPECTATIONS
All economists participating in the survey expressed the view that the credit rating would remain unchanged, while 12 experts believe the outlook will remain "stable," and 3 experts think it could be downgraded to "negative." Participating institutions in the survey include Colendi Menkul, Alnus Yatırım, OYAK Yatırım, and others.
S&P Global last upgraded Turkey's credit rating from "B+" to "BB-" on November 1, 2024, and changed the outlook from "positive" to "stable."
ANNOUNCEMENT EXPECTED
According to S&P Global's assessment calendar, an announcement regarding Turkey is scheduled for Friday, April 25. However, reports are sometimes not published on these dates. The announcement is expected to be released after 23:30 Turkey time.
Turkey's foreign currency credit rating is at the "BB-" level, which is considered in the "non-investment grade" category.
