Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, who made an assessment regarding the possible increase to the lowest pension that millions of retirees are eagerly awaiting, answered journalists' questions after the Cabinet Meeting.
Minister Işıkhan stated that the process regarding the regulation planned for the lowest pension will take shape after the inflation data to be announced on July 3.

Responding to journalists' questions about whether there will be an increase in the lowest pension, Işıkhan said that the inflation rate to be announced will be the determining factor.
Minister Işıkhan said, "When the inflation rate is announced on July 3, a figure will emerge."
REGULATION WILL COME TO THE TBMM AGENDA
Stating that the legal process will begin after the inflation data is finalized, Işıkhan stated that the issue will be discussed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
Minister Işıkhan said, "When the figure is clear, the necessary statement regarding the issue will be made in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. I hope it will be beneficial."
LOWEST PENSION IS AT THE LEVEL OF 20 THOUSAND LIRA
Currently, the lowest pension is applied as 20 thousand lira.
Although there are assessments in the lobbies that a study is being carried out to increase this amount to approximately 23 thousand 500 lira, no officially finalized figure has been announced regarding the issue.
The proportional raise to be given to SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will be calculated over the base pensions of the retirees.
