Critical meeting in Ankara: CHP's economic team to present 4 demands to Mehmet Şimşek

The CHP's economic team and Minister Şimşek will meet tomorrow at 10:00 AM. Yalçın Karatepe, the CHP's shadow minister responsible for Treasury and Finance, announced that he would voice the demand for a minimum wage increase of at least the inflation rate starting from July during the meeting.
Following the reciprocal visits between AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, meetings between opposition representatives and ministers are continuing.
Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek will meet with Yalçın Karatepe, the shadow minister for Treasury and Finance of the Republican People's Party (CHP), at the ministry in Ankara tomorrow at 10:00 AM.
The delegation will also include two other economic experts representing the CHP. These individuals are Secretary General Selin Sayek Böke and Deputy Chairman Volkan Demir.
According to a report on NTV, the CHP delegation reviewed the topics to be discussed with Şimşek ahead of the visit.
The delegation has prepared a report containing proposals for the tax reform package currently being worked on by the government.
The CHP officials will also present topics they characterize as requiring urgent action to the Treasury and Finance Minister.
WHAT IS ON THE TABLE?
The prominent topics are the minimum wage and pension payments.
CHP's Yalçın Karatepe will voice the demand for a minimum wage increase of at least the inflation rate starting from July.
A proposal to increase pensions by adding a welfare share to the inflation rate will also be on the table.
During the meeting, topics such as increasing agricultural support, TÜİK data, and the Wealth Fund will also be brought to the agenda by the CHP officials.
The decision for Şimşek to meet with the CHP delegation was made during the meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel at the CHP Headquarters.
Members of the CHP's shadow cabinet had previously met with Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, and Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mehmet Özhaseki.
