The major rally in cryptocurrency markets at the end of last year and the US presidential elections enabled cryptocurrency exchanges to reach record levels. Coinbase, one of the leading US exchanges, delivered a performance that exceeded expectations.

COINBASE BREAKS RECORDS

As of the last quarter of last year, the Coinbase exchange generated a total of 2.27 billion dollars in revenue and reported 1.277 billion dollars in profit. Analysts' expectations were for 1.88 billion dollars in revenue and 1.81 dollars in profit per share. In the same period of the previous year, 270 million dollars in profit and 953 million dollars in revenue had been recorded.

While revenue from transactions on the exchange doubled to reach 1.56 billion dollars, total trading volume also increased by approximately two-fold to 439 billion dollars. Both retail and institutional trading volumes reached historical peaks.

As of 2025, while the exchange's transaction revenue has exceeded 750 million dollars, results close to the previous quarter's figures are expected for the quarter as a whole. The exchange's subscription and services revenue is projected to be between 685 million and 750 million dollars.
